Islamabad: Denying that Pakistan banned three militant outfits under US' pressure, Prime Minister Mir
Zafarullah Khan Jamali today (Nov 16) indicated his Government planned to ban more such groups.
"The Government is determined to wipe out terrorism," Jamali told reporters at an Iftar dinner when
asked whether more militant groups will be banned.
"The decision to ban these groups had not been taken under any pressure," Jamali said, adding the
Government would not allow the banned groups to re-establish themselves with new names.
He also warned that anyone transgressing the law of the land would not go unpunished. "Nobody is
above the law and everyone will have to abide by it," he said.
While banning three militant groups - Khuddam-ul-Islam, Islami Tehrick Pakistan and Millat-e-Islamiya -
Pakistani Government put Jamat-Ud-Dawan, the parent unit of the Lashker-e-Toiba, on the watch-list.
