Chattisgarh: Collectors relieved as per EC's directive

Raipur: The Chattisgarh Government today (November 19) relieved the Bastar and Jashpur Collectors from their posts for alleged violation of the model code of conduct for elections.

The Election Commission had said that the two should be removed from their posts, as they had been allegedly found guilty of violating the model conduct for elections.

An official told reporters that the Bastar collector, L N Suryawanshi and his Jashpur counterpart, B S Anant had been relieved from their posts and added that a panel of names has been sent to the Election Commission to name their successors.
