Friday, November 21 2003 15:11 Hrs (IST)

Srinagar: In a reiteration of its stand, Hurriyat Conference today (November 21) said it was ready for a dialogue with the Centre provided the offer was unconditional and aimed at resolving Kashmir issue.

"We will hold talks with New Delhi only after we receive a formal invitation which should be unconditional and aimed at resolving Kashmir issue," former Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq told a Friday congregation in Srinagar.

Yesterday, in its first formal response to the Centre's October 22 offer, the conglomerate said it was willing for talks provided they were unconditional and focused on resolving Kashmir issue.
