Historic opportunity to solve Kashmir issue: Mufti

Jammu: Hailing Hurriyat Conference's decision to hold unconditional dialogue with Deputy Prime Minister
L K Advani, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today (Nov 21) said it provided
a "historic opportunity" to solve the Kashmir problem.
"It will be a turning point in resolution of Kashmir imbroglio and usher in lasting peace and normalcy in
Jammu and Kashmir. It has vindicated our stand," he told reporters at an Iftar party hosted by Governor
Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha at the Raj Bhavan.
Sayeed said "we have made it clear in the Common Minimum Programme that the coalition Government
would persuade the Centre to initiate an unconditional dialogue with everyone to address the internal
dimension for solving the Kashmir problem".
Sayeed said he had met the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister several times and demanded
that they should hold talks with separatists.
