Fight against terror must be truly global: Sinha
Friday, November 21 2003 18:11 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Voicing deep regret over the bomb blasts in Istanbul, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha today (Nov 21) said the terror attacks showed a pattern and determination by the perpetrators and stressed that fight against the scourge must be truly global, regardless of where it occurred.

In a letter to the Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, Sinha said, "We in India feel greatly hurt that life, liberty and security of the people of Turkey should have been subjected to such repeated acts of terror.

"Unfortunately, the series of terrorist attacks in Istanbul show a pattern and a determination on part of the terrorists. The fact that the victims of this violence were people belonging to different parts of the world, shows once again that the efforts against terror must be truly global, regardless of where it occurs," he said.
