Bhopal: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today (Nov 22) made a scathing attack on Congress
president Sonia Gandhi by dubbing her as arrogant for saying that giving power to Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) was akin to giving a sharp razor to a monkey.
Gandhi's statement showed that she has no understanding of this land (unhe is dharti ki samajh nahin
hai), Advani said while addressing election meetings at Khandwa and Mandsaur in Madhya
Pradesh.
He said that people in the country would not tolerate the Congress for its attempt to ridicule Uma Bharti,
who is being projected as BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in the State, and suggested a TV discussion
between Gandhi and Bharti.
Accusing Congress of being responsible for backwardness in Madhya Pradesh, Advani said despite 10
years of Digvijay Singh's rule, the condition of the roads and availability of electricity as also drinking
water were dismal.
Appealing to people to vote for BJP, he said his party has created history in the State by projecting a
woman as Chief Ministerial candidate.
