Kalam concerned at violence in Assam, Bihar

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam tonight (Nov 22) expressed serious concern at the violence in Assam and Bihar.

"The President has received many representations in this regard in the last few days and they have been referred to the Government," Press Secretary to Kalam said.

It is understood that the President is in touch with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on these developments and had spoken to him on the matter.

Kalam is also keeping himself informed of the developments in these two States, which had witnessed violent incidents, informed sources said.
