New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation today (November 25) ruled out possibility of involvement of
any faculty member of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in the leakage of Common Admission
Test (CAT) question paper but hinted at "something wrong" with the press that printed it.
"Something wrong must have happened in the printing press which we are scrutinising", CBI Director P C
Sharma told reporters on the sidelines of a conference on fake currency notes and fake Government
stamps in Mumbai. He, however, ruled out the possibility of faculty members of the IIM being involved in
the leakage, which led to the cancellation of the examination.
Asked whether the agency had received any communication from the Finance Ministry which has
decided to hand over the probe to CBI on the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, Sharma said "we have
received something", but refused to elaborate.
He made it clear that the agency will take up investigation "as and when the state Government reports it
to the agency".
