Tuesday, November 25 2003 12:23 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: All 52 passengers and crew on board Jet Airways flight from Bhavnagar escaped unhurt after the ATR-72 aircraft went off the runway shortly after landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport in Mumbai today (November 25).

"The aircraft swerved to the left and went off the runway shortly after it touched down at around 10.15 AM (IST)," airport officials said.

The main runway has since been closed following this incident. However, flights were not affected as Airports Authority of India (AAI) opened the secondary runway.

Officials of Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Jet Airways have reached the spot to access the damage, if any, even as efforts are on to pull back the aircraft.
