Powell calls Sinha; discusses Indo-Pak ceasefire

New Delhi: US Secretary of State Collin Powell tonight (Nov 25) telephoned External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and had a discussion in the context of the "positive" developments including Eid ceasefire taking place between India and Pakistan.

Sinha told Powell that India was "happy" to respond to Pakistan Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali's offer for ceasefire taking effect tonight along the International Border, the Line of Control (LoC) and the Siachen Glacier in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.
