BSE: Sensex opens firm on selective buying support

Mumbai: The Sensex opened on a firm note and later moved in a narrow range of about 15 points as a
result of scrip specific activity during morning trading on the Stock
Exchange in Mumbai today (November 25) on selective buying support by investors.
The BSE Benchmark 30-share Index opened strong at 4845.10 as against yesterday's close of 4822.15
and later fluctuated in a range between 4861.52 and 4843.46 before being quoted at 4848.98 at 10.30
AM (IST).
The market is expected to witness lackluster activity with a low volume during the session in view of a
holiday on Wednesday (November 26), market sources said.
Domestic funds which have made net purchases of Rs 349 crore during last week, continued their
buying in select blue-chip counters.
Heavyweights like Infosys Tech, ITC, Satyam Computers, RIL, Wipro, Grasim, L&T and BHEL were
quoted remarkably up on fresh buying support.
Among the top gainers, Jindal Strip were quoted up by 19.98 per cent, India cement by 7.17 per cent,
Sterlite by 5.0 per cent, Info Ent by 4.88 per cent, Visuals by 4.80 per cent,
Rel Capital by 4.36 per cent, Gesco by 4.26 per cent, Escorts by 4.07 per cent and HCL Tech by 4.01
per cent.
