Hyderabad: Lack of coordination and sharing of information among various government agencies on
security matters in Andhra Pradesh came to fore when top officials deposed before the Prakash Singh
Commission, probing the security lapses that led to naxalites attack on Chief Minister N Chandrababu
Naidu at Tirupati on October 1.
During the three-day long grilling, which concluded in Hyderabad today (Nov 26), 35 officials including
top police officers deposed before the Commission.
Those who appeared before the Commission include IGP (security) Sudeep Lakahtakia, IGP
(Greyhounds) Anurag Sharma, Chief Security Officer to the Chief Minister K Umapathy, former Chittoor
SP N Naveen Chand, who was placed under suspension, former Anantapur DIG A V Narayana, TTD
(Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) Executive Engineer Ajay Kalam and Chittoor collector, who was
transferred to APTRANSCO, G Sai Prasad.

Liasioning (ASL) checking and he remarked, "this was a very serious lapse".
While admitting he had not informed the collector that an ASL was going to be conducted prior to Chief
Minister's visit, Naveen Chand said the initiative for conducting the check should have come from the
collector himself.
Additional SP S Chandrasekhar Reddy informed the Commission on conducting of combing operation
on Ghat Road that he had instructed a Reserve Inspector (RI), Tirupati, Ramanaiah to conduct combing
operation.
