New Delhi: Shiv Sena, a key National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally, today (Nov 26) released its
manifesto for Delhi Assembly elections promising, among other things, to rid the capital of illegal
Bangladeshi migrants and introduction of a Common Civil Code for all Delhiites on the pattern of Goa,
besides imposition of a blanket ban on cow slaughter.
The party, which is contesting 27 of the 70 seats at stake, also promised to make Delhi the "safest city"
for women, construct concrete houses for slum dwellers and impart public school education for children
from poor families.
Releasing the manifesto at a press conference, Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party leader Chandrakant
Khaire and Delhi party chief Jai Bhagwan Goel hoped that Shiv Sena would emerge as the third
alternative to Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State.
"Our nominees are getting excellent response from the voters who are fed up with Congress and BJP,"
Khaire said, adding that his party would open its account in the Delhi Assembly in a big way, with at least
10 "sure" seats in its kitty.
