Indian, Pak troops exchange sweets to mark Eid
Wednesday, November 26 2003 21:01 Hrs (IST)

Wagah: The ceasefire along the Indo-Pak frontiers in Jammu and Kashmir found its reflection along the Radcliff Line in Punjab when Pakistani Rangers exchanged sweets with their Indian counterparts to mark Eid.

In a departure from the menacing gestures they make at each other every evening at this checkpost along the border between the two countries, Pakistani officials offered sweets to Border Security Force (BSF) officers, who greeted them on the festive occasion.

India and Pakistan agreed on an Eid ceasefire along the Line of Control, International Border and Siachen Glacier, the first formal truce between the two Armies since the outbreak of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
