Bhilwara: Attacking Congress President Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin, Bharatiya Janata Party general
secretary Pramod Mahajan today (November 27) said had she did not have any nationalistic feelings for
India and had she not married Rajiv Gandhi she would not have been an Indian.
Mahajan was speaking at an election meeting at Mandal, near Bhilwara in Rajasthan.
Ridiculing Gandhi for her snide remarks against Prime Minister, he said there cannot be any comparison
between her and Vajpayee. "Vajpayeeji has spent more time in Parliament than Sonia Gandhi's age," he
said.
Mahajan claimed there was a clear wave for change in all the four states going to polls on December 1
and Congress would be swept out of power.
Accusing the Congress Government in the desert state of failing on all fronts Mahajan said it not only
failed to honour its poll promise of providing adequate electricity to farm sector but also burdened the
desert state with Rs.65,000 crore debt.
Brushing aside Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's charge that the Centre discriminated against the State in
extending assistance for drought and famine relief, Mahajan said the Vajpayee Government gave
maximum assistance to Rajasthan but corruption here floundered every thing.
Mahajan also addressed election meetings in Sahada and Banera constituencies.
