'Sena men not involved in fake stamp paper scam'
Friday, November 28 2003 22:25 Hrs (IST)
Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today (Nov 28) declared that not a single politician belonging to
his party was involved in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam and welcomed the high court order
asking Special Investigation Team (SIT) to continue with its probe.
"No politicians from Sena are involved in the scam, but those involved in the crime should be strictly
dealt with," he told reporters.
The Sena supremo said that he had never demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into
the racket as the SIT was doing a good job. "People can change their statement but I don't."
The Sena supremo had a dig at the so-called secular parties for criticising Shiv Sena agitation in driving
out North Indians who had come here to appear for the Railway Recruitment Board examination recently.
His party was merely demanding jobs for the locals, Thackeray said.
"When people from Bihar attacked Assamese why did these secular parties keep quiet?" he asked.
