Ahmedabad: Expressing dissatisfaction over the decision to conduct retest of the Common Admission
Test (CAT) on February 1 following the nationwide leak of question papers last Sunday (Nov 23), a
senior professor of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) has allegedly decided to file a public interest
litigation (PIL) challenging the decision.
In an e-mail notice circulated last evening (Nov 28), IIM-Ahmedabad Professor J P singh said, "The
retest was not necessary and would be a harassment to the 1.25 lakh students and their families apart
from being a financial burden for the institutions."
Singh also said in the e-mail that "the IIMs should treat the cancelled tests of November 23 as the first
cut eligibility and hold a second test for fewer number of students".
However, neither Prof Singh nor IIMA director Bakul Dholakia were available for comment on the
controversial e-mail.
