2 killed, senior IAS officer among 9 hurt in JK

Jammu: A suspected militant and a policeman were today (Nov 30) killed and nine others injured in an attack by militants and subsequent encounter between them and security forces in Mahamahaya forest belt area on the outskirts of Jammu, official sources said.

The encounter began after two militants, who escaped and took shelter in Mahamaya forest area, fired on the police and Army troops. Earlier, the militants opened fire on the vehicle of senior IAS officer K B Pillai in the morning injuring him, his personal security guard and the driver.
