U S Mishra tipped to become new CBI Director

New Delhi: U S Mishra, Special Director in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), is tipped to become the agency's Director after the retirement of present incumbent P C Sharma on December 6.

After being cleared by the selection panel, Mishra's name had gone to Prime Minister's Office and an order on his appointment as CBI Director was expected soon, official sources said today (Nov 30, 2003).

Mishra is a 1968 batch IPS (Indian Police Service) officer from Orissa cadre.
