Sunday, November 30 2003 10:59 Hrs (IST)

Betul (Madhya Pradesh): Samajwadi Party candidate from Betul, Ashok Samble, went missing after addressing an election meeting in Chicholi area this evening (Nov 29, 2003), party sources said today (Nov 30).

Superintendent of Police A K Singh said police had launched a search for Samble, even as some party workers suspected that he had been abducted.

A large number of party activists led by Samajwadi Party secretary Dr Suneelam blocked traffic near Multai in protest against the disappearance of Samble and threatened to stage a dharna at district headquarters if he was not traced.
