New Delhi: Confident of a 'landslide victory' in all four states going to polls tomorrow (Dec 1), Congress
today said the results would herald new alignments resulting in the defeat of NDA (National Democratic
Alliance) in the Lok Sabha elections next year.
"Whether you call it a semi-final or referendum, we are going to win in all the states. After the poll results
are out NDA allies are going to desert BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) resulting in the defeat of the party in
the Lok Sabha polls next year," AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary Ahmed Patel
told reporters in New Delhi.
Patel was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a lunch hosted by him for media persons at his
residence.
"The resounding victory for Congress will lead to several NDA allies leaving the alliance to save their
existence," he said and claimed "a dumped BJP will be defeated in the next Lok Sabha polls".
The four party ruled states--Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi--are going to polls
tomorrow. Congress and BJP are the main contenders.
