3 CNP employees suspended in fake stamp scam

Nasik: Three Currency Note Press (CNP) employees, including a store department officer, was
suspended in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, sources said.
Three employees in CNP's store department were suspended yesterday (Nov 29, 2003) after 10-ream
water-mark paper, being used to print currency note, were found missing a few years ago, CNP sources
said, adding a search was in progress for the missing ream paper.
With this the total number of suspension in both Indian Security Press and CNP has gone to seven in
the scam.
The incident came to light on January 13, 2002 during the tenure of then CNP general manager V K
Jain, who brought it to the notice of Mazdoor Sangh and new general manger Arun Ingale, who in turn
informed the Union Finance Ministry.
The Ministry appointed a three-member committee headed by P K sharma, Joint Secretary of Devas
Press, and submitted its report on October 18 last month to the Finance Ministry, CNP sources said
today (Nov 30).
Ingale after returning from New Delhi yesterday served suspension orders to store department
employees.
