Lucknow: The newly formed Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust (AJMT) would hold discussions with VHP
(Vishwa Hindu Parishad) and other Hindu leaders in Ayodhya on December 26 on its formula to resolve
the vexed issue by handing over the disputed site to Hindus and building a mosque 1.5 kms away from
there.
"The AJMT has been able to win the support of large section of Muslims, who want to resolve this
(temple-mosque) issue at the earliest," the Trust Chairman A A Rizvi claimed at a press conference in
Lucknow today (Dec 3).
Keeping this in view, he said the Trust members would meet members of VHP's Kendriya Margdarshak
Mandal (central steering committee comprising Hindu saints) at the VHP headquarters in
Karsewakpuram to discuss the formula.
As per the Trust formula, the two plaintiffs - Nirmohi Akhara from Hindu side and a Hashmi from Muslim
side - contesting the title suit of the disputed land in High Court should withdraw the case and the land,
disputed as well as acquired, should be handed over to the Hindus.
The Muslims should construct a Jama Masjid at Katra locality, around 1.5 kms away from the disputed
site, Rizvi said giving details of the formula.
He said that this formula has been discussed threadbare with the VHP while discussions were on with
ulemas.
Rizvi said chief of the All India Imams Organisation Hazrat Maulana Jamil Ahmad Illiyasi will also take part
in the December 26 meeting.
