US may issue stamp to commemorate Diwali
Wednesday, December 3 2003 22:59 Hrs (IST)

Washington: It is learnt that the US Postal Department is considering issuing stamp to commemorate the Diwali.

The two million-strong Indian community has been urging the Administration to take such a step.

President George Bush honours all religions by issuing messages on Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and other holidays.

This year he also issued a message on Diwali Day.

He has said more than once, "We all pray to the same God".

The US Government has already issued stamps in honour of Christian, Jewish, Muslim and other holidays.
