HC orders State to produce Telgi's medical report

Bangalore: Karnataka High Court today (Dec 3) ordered State authorities to produce latest medical
report of alleged kingpin in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket Abdul Kareem Telgi within a week.
The Judge, Justice Hulivadi G Ramesh, passed the orders in a criminal petition filed by Telgi praying
that he be released on bail.
The petitioner submitted that he is an accused in a Sessions case pending before the Fast Track Court-
II of Bangalore city in the matter relating to the stamps. He also submitted that he is a diabetic and
suffering from cardiac problems.
Telgi had filed an application before the trial court for bail and the court had rejected the same on
September 15, 2003.
The petitioner also stated that he is in judicial custody since November 11, 2001. He prayed for setting
aside the trial court order and be released on bail. The judge adjourned further hearing of the petition to
next week.
