Thursday, December 4 2003 17:36 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: It was celebration time at the Prime Minister's residence at Race Course Road in New Delhi with 'laddoos' doing the rounds to rejoice Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) stunning victory in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh.

No sooner did news of BJP's imminent victory started trickling in, the think-tank of the party – Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, BJP president Venkaiah Naidu, Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, Party general secretary Pramod Mahajan and Law Minister Arun Jaitley converged at the residence of Vajpayee to share the happy moments.

Vajpayee especially lauded the efforts of Mahajan for work in Rajasthan and Jaitley for his efforts in Madhya Pradesh.

Electronic media persons were allowed to capture on camera the bonhomie and exchange of sweets among the party stalwarts at the Prime Minister's residence. Vajpayee himself thrust a piece of 'laddoo' into Naidu's mouth.

In fact, Naidu after briefing reporters personally distributed sweets for media persons.
