Raipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Dec 5, 2003) said its new Government in Chattisgarh would
conduct a detailed inquiry into the charges of corruption against the Ajit Jogi regime.
"The new BJP Government will conduct a detailed inquiry into the allegations of corruption and
misadministration in various welfare schemes implemented by the Jogi Government," party president M
Venkaiah Naidu told a press conference in Raipur.
"The BJP Government will institute an inquiry to unravel the truth, which will be made available to the
people of the State," he said.
When asked whether a full-fledged inquiry committee would be appointed to go into the charges, Naidu
said, "All these administrative details will be decided by the new regime."
Union Minister Rajnath Singh, who is the in-charge of the party affairs in Chattisgarh, had said yesterday
that the BJP Government would not resort to vindictive measures.
Naidu said the new Government would also review the cases filed against BJP leaders and activists by
the Jogi Government.
Terming BJP'S victory in Chattisgarh as "special", he said, "The people of the State have clearly voted
against the administrative terror unleashed by Jogi. They have voted against Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and
his mentor, All india Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi."
