Islamabad: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf yesterday (Dec 5, 2003) expressed satisfaction that
the 10-day old ceasefire with India was holding without any problem for 10 days.
Discussing his recent initiatives and the Indian response with the Corp Commanders of the Army,
Musharraf expressed satisfaction that the ceasefire on the line of control (LoC) had been reciprocated
by India and was holding to-date, an official statement said in Islamabad.
Speaking at the Army headquarters in Rawalpindi, Musharraf said Pakistan took the decision of opening
the air space and establishing air link, as well as allowing overflights to India as a goodwill gesture.
The conference, attended by all corps commanders and principal staff officers, discussed in detail the
situation along the LoC, working boundary and international borders, the statement said.
The commanders also exchanged the internal security situation.
Defence spokesman Major General Shoukat Sultan said the initiatives with India were discussed as a
matter of routine.
With this meeting, Musharraf appeared to have completed the first round of consultations of his recent
