Bihar DGP Ojha sacked 2 months prior to retirement
Saturday, December 6 2003 12:04 Hrs (IST)

Patna: Bihar director general of police (DGP) D P Ojha was today (Dec 6, 2003) unceremoniously removed from his post barely two months prior to his retirement.

Official sources close to Chief Minister Rabri Devi confirmed removal of Ojha.

The name of his successor will be announced soon, sources said.

Ojha had raised the hackles of the State's political class by his reported outburst against politicians.

The move comes in the wake of a Cabinet meeting held yesterday, where members were unanimous in their view that the DGP should be removed and departmental proceedings initiated against him.
