Tape concocted, forged, voice not mine: Ajit Jogi
Sunday, December 7 2003 10:00 Hrs (IST)
Raipur: Outgoing Chief Minister Ajit Jogi last night (Dec 6, 2003) said the tape purportedly containing his
voice alleged by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for bribing its MLAs is "concocted" and "forged" and
offered to face any probe in this connection.
Addressing a press conference in Raipur past midnight, Jogi maintained the voice in the tape was not
his.
He, however, admitted that he had written a letter to Governor offering party's support to rebel BJP
MLAs to form a Government headed by a tribal Chief Minister.
Jogi said he had written the letter after former BJP MLA Virendra Pandey had come and met him at his
residence yesterday and sought his support for such a Government.
He said the tape played by Union Law Minister Arun Jaitley was "concocted" and "forged" and asserted it
was not his voice in the tape.
Jogi said it was a conspiracy by BJP to defame him.
