Army jawan shoots down two colleagues in J&K

Jammu: A jawan opened fire inside an Army camp following a quarrel and killed two of his colleagues and injured another in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today (Dec 8, 2003).

The jawan, Swaran, had a quarrel with his colleagues while playing cards in Janglote Army camp in Kathua district last night (Dec 7), the sources said.

In a fit of rage following the verbal duel, he took out his personal weapon and opened indiscriminate firing killing two of his colleagues and injured another, they said.

The Army authorities have ordered a court of inquiry into the incident and an FIR (first information report) was registered in this connection.
