Vasundhara Raje sworn in as 1st woman CM of R'sthan

Jaipur: Rajasthan BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president, Vasundhara Raje was today
(Dec 8, 2003) sworn-in as the first woman Chief Minister of the desert state.
Raje was sworn in at a glittering public function by the State Governor Kailashpati Misra along with nine
ministers in the presence of Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh and Chief ministers of BJP-ruled
states of Gujarat, Narendra Modi and Goa, Pratap Rane.
Outgoing Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also attended the function, held outside the State Assembly
building.
Eight Cabinet-rank Ministers and a Minister of State were also sworn in along with Raje.
Those inducted as Cabinet Ministers are Gulab Chand Kataria, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Kirodi Lal Meena,
Sanwar Lal Jat, Madan Dilawar and Narpat Singh Rajvi, Kanak Mal Katara and Yunus Khan.
Prabhu Lal Saini was sworn in as Minister of State.
