Moscow: At least five people were killed and three wounded in a car bomb blast today (Dec 9, 2003) in front of a hotel near Moscow's Red Square and Kremlin.

The blast occurred in the capital's main shopping street Tverskaya, near the National Hotel, police said.

The explosion was set off by a female suicide bomber, ITAR-Tass said.
