Jawan dismissed in JK for molesting woman

Jammu: In an instance of exemplary punishment, an Army jawan has been dismissed from the service after he was found guilty of molesting a woman by the court martial.

A complaint was filed against the jawan for molesting a woman under the Thanamandi police station area on August 24 this year, an Army spokesman said in Jammu today (Dec 10, 2003).

After investigations police filed a case against the jawan in the court of the Thanamandi judicial magistrate, he said adding that Army took the case in its hands on September 21.

According to the spokesman, the jawan was tried by the court martial on December 2 when he was found guilty and it was decided to dismiss him to uphold the norms and ethics of service.
