Ayodhya: "Sri Ram Janambhumi Mandir Nirman Samanwaya Samiti' today (Dec 12, 2003) said it, along
with the newly- formed Ayodhya Jama Masjid Trust, has started the process of negotiations with
Hindu "dharmacharyas" and Muslim religious leaders to find out an early and amicable solution to the
long-standing Ayodhya tangle.
"There is willingness among the religious leaders of both the communities to arrive at a peaceful solution
with the active co-operation and involvement of local people to achieve peace and harmony," Samiti
president Narayan Misra said.
Efforts would be made to "localise" the issue and get both the temple and the mosque constructed within
the municipal limits of Ayodhya keeping aside all previous talks which have failed to yield any result, he
told reporters in Ayodhya.
Misra said a meeting of the Samiti was held in Ayodhya yesterday, which was attended by several
dharmacharyas, including Swami Subodhanand (Himachal Pradesh), Mahant Ram Prakash Das
(Punjab), Mahant Swami Vivekanand (Uttranchal), Mahant Ram Hans Das, Mahant Mohan Das and
Mahant Ramanuj Das.
He said the Trust and Samiti would convene a National Unity Conference of Hindu and Muslim
intellectuals in Ayodhya early next year (2004) to help them come on one platform to understand the
ground realities of the issue.
Misra said the Samiti would soon form its units in different parts of the country and hold seminars and
meetings to mobilise public opinion regarding the need for a peaceful solution to the Ayodhya issue.
The Samiti has nominated Kartik Chopra of Azad Hind Foundation (Delhi) as its national general
secretary.
