Nation remembers martyrs of Parliament attack

New Delhi: A grateful nation today (Dec 13, 2003) remembered the supreme sacrifice made by valiant security personnel while protecting the seat of Democracy from terrorist attack two years ago.

Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha Najma Heptulla and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and others offered flowers at the plaque "The martyrs of December 13, 2001. They foiled the terrorist attack on Parliament of India and died defending the Democracy."

The dignitaries stood in silence for a few minutes in memory of those nine security personnel, including a woman, killed in the incident.

Advani also went round the blood donation camp organised in the Parliament House. Several security personnel and officials of Parliament donated blood on the occasion.
