Dikshit to be sworn in as Delhi CM on Dec 15
Saturday, December 13 2003 16:03 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The new Council of Ministers in Delhi led by Sheila Dikshit will take oath of office on Monday (Dec 15, 2003), official sources said today (Dec 13).

Lt Governor Vijai Kapoor will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Minister and six others at a function at Raj Niwas, they said.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and several other senior Congress leaders are expected to attend the function, they said.

Dikshit will assume the office of Chief Minister for the second successive term.

The Congress Party, which first wrested power in Delhi in 1998 ousting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), romped back in the December 1 Assembly polls with two-third majority for the second time.

Congress bagged 47 of the 70 seats at stake, five less than the previous score.
