Next PM should support Hindus' demands: Togadia

Udupi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Praveen Togadia today (Dec 13, 2003) asked
Hindus to demand the next Government at the Centre to fulfil their "wishes" of Ram temple in Ayodhya,
ban on conversion and cow slaughter and implementation of Common Civil Code in the country.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at the VHP's 'Virat Hindu Samajotsav' in Udupi, he charged all political
parties with appeasing Muslims treating them as vote banks and neglecting the majority Hindus.
"We want our next Prime Minister who supports and respects Hindu causes, Hindu Bhagawadhwaj, Ram
Janma Bhoomi, ban on conversion and cow slaughter and protection of Hindus and Hindu temples," he
said.
Hindus who had shown "great tolerance" would be satisfied if Muslims withdrew their claims over Ram
Janmabhoomi, Mathura and Kashi, he said.
He said the recent elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh and Gujarat electoral
outcome had shown the strength of Hindus, which should be repeated in other parts of the country.
Vishwesh Tirtha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt said the Hindus and sants and sadhus want a peaceful solution
to the Ayodhya tangle and smooth handover of Ram Janmabhoomi respecting the feelings of majority
Hindus, either through negotiations of through legislation. If this could not happen, all political parties
should be ready to face the "enmity" of Hindus, he warned.
