Ajmer: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto today (Dec 14, 2003) paid obeisance at the
dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Bhutto offered a 'velvet chadar' and read 'fatiha' (prayer) at the tomb of the Sufi saint.
The former Pakistan Prime Minister, who landed at Sanganer airport in Jaipur, drove straight to Ajmer.
Iqbal Kaptan Chishti, who claims to be Bhutto's ancestral 'khadim', performed the 'dastarbandi' (prayer
ritual) by putting a dupatta (scarf) on her head and presenting 'tabarruk' (prasad) on the occasion.
Bhutto, who is in India for a peace conference organised by a leading daily, visited the Anjuman's office
and signed the visitor's book.
The dargah committee accorded her a reception on reaching Buland Darwaja, where she was cheered
by a large crowd.
This was Bhutto's third visit to the Ajmer Dargah.
