India condemns assassination bid on Musharraf

New Delhi: India today (Dec 15, 2003) condemned the terrorist blast in Rawalpindi in Pakistan yesterday minutes after President Pervez Musharraf passed from there, narrowly escaping an assassination bid.

"Government of India condemns the terrorist blast in Rawalpindi yesterday soon after the convoy of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf had passed by," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman told reporters.

"The incident has underscored once again the need for eliminating terrorism in a comprehensive manner from everywhere," he said.
