New Delhi: Taking note of the developments in the wake of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's capture, India today (Dec 15, 2003) hoped for an early improvement in security situation in the war- ravaged country.

"India has taken note of the developments. We hope for an early improvement in the security situation in Iraq leading to an early transfer of sovereignty to the friendly people of Iraq," External Affairs Ministry spokesman told reporters in response to questions.
