Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Laloo Prasad Yadav today (Dec 15, 2003) asked former Bihar
director general of police (DGP) D P Ojha to put up in a Bihar Military Police (BMP) camp on security
grounds, as he was apprehending threat to his life from the former (Laloo) and Lok Sabha member
Mohammad Shahabuddin.
"The ousted DGP will be safe there (in a BMP camp)," Laloo said while reacting to the ex-DGP's
apprehension that he might be eliminated by Yadav and Shahabuddin.
Ojha had told a meeting of Bihar Traders Struggle Committee yesterday, "I apprehend threat to my and
family members' life for speaking the truth against Laloo Yadav that he (Yadav) is ruling the State by
remote control and protecting the interests of incarcerated RJD MP Shahabuddin allegedly having links
with the ISI and international criminals.
Ridiculing the charges levelled against him, Laloo said the ex-DGP was making contradictory statements
to malign his image.
The RJD president said every person who parted company with him had made similar allegations. "Right
from Purnea MP Pappu Yadav to D P Ojha, all of them have levelled absurd and unwarranted
allegations against me," Yadav remarked.
Accusing Ojha of playing into hands of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders, Laloo alleged that
Ojha was getting close to Union Minister C P Thakur whom he (Ojha) had given a clean chit in
connection with kidnapping of noted neuro surgeon Dr Ramesh Chandra in Patna.
