DMK to support Bill replacing POTA Ordinance

New Delhi: National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners, including Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), today (Dec 15, 2003) decided to support the Bill for replacing POTA Ordinance and a Constitution Amendment legislation aimed at giving a major push to electoral reforms.

This was decided at a nearly two-hour meeting of Floor leaders of NDA partners at the residence of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee where Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader K Yerrannaidu was also present, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told reporters.

She said both the Bills will be taken up in the Lok Sabha tomorrow and in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday (Dec 18).
