POTA: Cong to oppose amendment; seeks repeal
Monday, December 15 2003 23:08 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Congress today (Dec 15, 2003) made it clear that it would not support any amendments in POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) and demanded its immediate repeal.

"We are not going to support Government's move as we consider these amendments as inadequate. We believe that nothing short of the repeal of the draconian law would serve the purpose," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters.
