HC permits Vaiko to attend Parliament

Chennai: Madras High Court today (Dec 15, 2003) permitted Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief and POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) detenu Vaiko to attend Parliament tomorrow (Dec 16) to participate in the debate and voting on the POTA Amendment Bill.

Disposing of a petition filed by the MP, Justice A Kulasekharan, however, made it clear that he is being permitted to go for a day and if he does not take part in the voting and debate tomorrow, he should be brought back tomorrow evening itself.
