Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was today (Dec 17, 2003) discharged
from the Breach Candy Hospital, after being admitted on Monday (Dec 15) for chest pain and
uneasiness.
The medical tests conducted on him did not reveal any significant health problem, hospital sources
said.
After getting out of the hospital, Bhujbal said he would fight back all the allegations levelled against him
by the Opposition.
This multi-crore stamp paper scam had proliferated in the Shiv Sena-BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)
regime, he reiterated.
On Mumbai High Court's decision to dismiss Maharashtra Government's petition to hand over fake
stamp paper scam probe to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Bhujbal said, "It was the pressure
from the Opposition that the State Government had approached the court."
"Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and Governor Mohammad Fazal had written to the State Government
demanding handing over the scam probe to CBI," the Deputy Chief Minister said, adding the
Government had then decided to approach the court.
"We are satisfied by SIT (Special Investigation Team) investigations, which was instituted by us," Bhujbal
said.
"I am not the one to be afraid of anything and will fight back," he said.
Bhujbal further said he would go to Nagpur tomorrow morning to attend the ongoing winter Assembly
session.
