Wednesday, December 17 2003 12:43 Hrs (IST)

Lahore: Four Pakistani officials left for New Delhi today (Dec 17, 2003) for talks on resuming Samjhauta Express train service, which was suspended two years ago after a militant attack on the Indian Parliament, officials said.

At the two days of talks starting tomorrow, Pakistan and India will discuss various proposals on restoring rail links between the two countries, said a Government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

It is the latest move toward easing tensions between the two countries.
