Amarinder has deputed CID to spy on me: Badal
Thursday, December 18 2003 21:31 Hrs (IST)

Hoshiarpur: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today (Dec 18, 2003) alleged that Amarinder Singh Government had deputed CID personnel around his residence to check his and family members' activities round the clock.

"My tour programmes are being followed by CID and my mobile phones are under surveillance," he told reporters, adding these acts of Chief Minister was in violation of Human Rights.

Claiming that Amarinder Singh had lost majority following the rebellion in the Congress, Badal demanded immediate resignation of the Chief Minister.

"The entire Government functioning had come to a standstill for the last fortnight due to heavy infighting among the Congress leaders," he said.

The Chief Minister, all Ministers of his Cabinet and Congress MLAs were camping at Delhi to lure the high command in their favour, he said, adding this had adversely effected the functioning of the Government.

He urged the Governor to immediately call a session of State Assembly keeping in view the prevailing conditions, and ask Amarinder Government to prove majority.
