Thursday, December 18 2003 11:39 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Entertaining Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's application seeking transfer of trial of two disproportionate asset cases against her from Bangalore to Pondicherry, the Supreme Court today (Dec 18, 2003) issued notice to the State of Karnataka seeking its response.

The Bench, comprising Justice S N Variava and Justice H K Sema, also issued the notice to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader K Anbazaghan on whose petition the apex court had transferred the trial from a Chennai court to Karnataka.

However, the Bench said the ongoing translation of trial court documents from Tamil to Kannada would continue.
