New Delhi: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Kushabhau Thakre is critically ill and is on supportive treatment at the party headquarters.

Thakre, who was admitted to AIIMS about 10 days ago, returned to party headquarters as he wanted to be close to his party colleagues and co-workers, according to a party release.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had a telephonic talk with Thakre three days ago, has been constantly enquiring about his health.

Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani visited the veteran BJP leader at the party headquarters while party president M Venkaiah Naidu has been visiting him regularly.
